E-Learning – Adult Learners Can Change The World

Silverbacks and Technology

The more I search the internet, the more I learn about the power of e-learning. In fact, that’s what I and millions of other boomers are doing , going back to school to learn something new, whether for fun or for certification. In my case after a lengthy career in communications, CBC radio and TV, film and video production, I decided I’d like to  pass on to others what I’ve learned. In order to do that at the university or college level I’ll need a piece of paper that says I’m qualified. So here I am, juggling work, family and school. It demands changing some routines and carefully planning how to use your time wisely.  There are some excellent blogs that can help you if you’re just starting out. Have you made the leap back to school? How are you finding it?

About M. Behrend

As a kid growing up in the sixties I had an overactive imagination. As an adult I realized that sometimes the truth can be more amazing than fiction. Everybody has at least one good story to tell.

I honestly don’t know how anyone keeps up with family, community, school, and work. But it’s a special challenge that people rise up to meet, and I’m regularly in awe. I know there is a big and growing market for learning of all sorts because of the geezer crowd, who have the financial wherewithal and the desire to keep learning. I wonder how much of it will translate into formal, credentialed programs, and how much will support informal learning initiatives?

For myself, if I ever retire, I think my first act will be to register for some classes at the University and SIAST!
